The house is located just off the main road through Fylingthorpe village and there are 7 stone steps leading up to the front door.
The front door leads into the hallway with stone-tiled floor and leading to a delightful and comfortable lounge/diner reception room. The floor is stone-tiled and has a large rug for added comfort. The striking white marble fireplace with a polished black hearth is the focal point of this room and houses a log burning stove for winter days or cool evenings. A dining table with matching chairs and benches sits in the large bay window and there is a sofa, leather armchair and small Smart TV for a spot of relaxation after dinner.Further along the hallway is the ultra-modern kitchen comprising a stone-tiled floor, white work surfaces and white units. There is an under-counter fridge, Zanussi electric hob & oven, built-in microwave, dishwasher, a 4-slice toaster and kettle. On the other side is a pine-topped breakfast bar with stools - perfect for light meals or simply a bit of company whilst preparing food. Please note that although there is no freezer compartment in the fridge, there is a small fridge-freezer located under the stairs which lead down to the lower-ground floor.....
This floor is something of an unexpected surprise. Firstly, there is a fabulously spacious bedroom with a king-size bed, stone-tiled floor and a large and luxurious rug. The room has some lovely old features including a mullioned bay window and an enormous (though non-working) open fireplace. The hanging rail and large chest of drawers provide ample space for clothes and personal items.Just outside this bedroom is a beautiful little split-level cloakroom which is fully tiled and comprises a WC and washbasin. Also on this floor is a further 'snug' sitting room which is equally perfect for family TV-viewing, movie nights, games or just relaxing away from the crowd. The corner sofa unit provides comfortable seating for everyone and the large wall-mounted Smart TV ensures everyone gets a good view. There is also an X-Box for gaming and DVDs. The coffee table for drinks and snacks and the large deep-pile rug underfoot definitely make this room fit for purpose.
Back upstairs, a further staircase leads up to the first floor where there is a king-size metal frame bed with bedside cabinets and two windows to the front aspect which flood this room with light and offer sea glimpses and views over Fylingdales Moor. There is also a leather armchair from which to take in the views, free-standing wardrobe and chest of drawers provide ample storage space. Also on this floor is the stunning family bathroom. To say it is spacious is an understatement. It is fully tiled and has a large walk-in shower, a free-standing roll-top bath, a washbasin and WC and there is a large frosted window to the rear aspect. From this floor, a further staircase leads up to the. second floor....
This large and very pleasant attic bedroom is fully carpeted and is characterised by sloping ceilings in parts of the room. It has a double bed and a small single bed, and the velux window to the front aspect provides lovely views to the sea and over the moors. Conveniently, there is also a fully-tiled en suite cloak room which houses a WC and washbasin.
There is a small fenced yard with bistro table and chairs to the front of the property.
The overall feel of this house is one of quality and attention to detail. The use of the navy & white decor throughout and the warm stone flooring over the two lower floors give this house a lovely flow. It is practically laid out and makes excellent use of the ample space. Edenholme is just a 10 minute walk to pubs and restaurants in upper Robin Hood's Bay and 15-20 minutes to the lower village and beach either by road or over the fields at Marnardale. The Fylingdales Inn is just across the road. It serves meals and has a play area and an extensive beer garden. There is also a bus stop just to the front of the house with a regular service between Scarborough and Whitby.
