Glen Studio is accessed at the end of a narrow lane which culminates in a small turning arm suitable for small and medium sized cars only. A small wooden gate opens into the cottage garden and a short gravel path leads to the front door.....
The front door leads directly into the main studio room lounge area with polished wooden floorboards, a futon sofa with occasional tables and a drop-leaf dining table and chairs. There is a small flat-screen TV with DVD player and an excellent selection of local books, walking guides, tide tables, maps and books. Set to one side of the lounge is a double divan bed and the large picture windows in the room provide ample light and afford lovely open views over the countryside. A door to the side of the main room leads into a small but well-equipped kitchenette which has a small stone sink, a table-top cooker with a 2-ring electric hob on top and a small oven/grill below. There is also an under-counter fridge with a small freezer compartment, a kettle and a toaster. A door to the rear of the main room leads into a spacious bathroom which runs the length of the cabin. There is a lovely old bath, deep enough to soak away the aches and pains of a long walk, a washbasin, a high-flush WC, electric wall heater and a drying rack. Although Glen Studio does not have central heating, there are adequate electric fan heaters and plug-in oil-filled radiators.
To the front of the property is a lovely garden with a gravel path and mature plants, shrubs and trees. It is surrounded by woodland, open fields and grazing land and the garden affords lovely open views across the local countryside. Glen Studio is set close to a small brook at the rear and a designated (but little-used) footpath leading to Fylingthorpe and Robin Hood's Bay.
