The cottage is accessed from a small snicket just off Chapel Street. The front door leads into a small hallway and then into a cosy lounge with a roomy under-stairs cupboard for coats and boots. There is a large sofa and secondary seating and entertainment is provided by a Smart TV and BT WiFi. In addition to full central heating, a lovely log-burning stove sits in the old fireplace; perfect to curl up in front of on a chilly evening. A dining table completes the room and will comfortably seat everyone down for formal meals.Just off the lounge is a compact but well-equipped kitchen with a gas oven and 4-ring hob, a washing machine and an under-counter fridge with a small freezer compartment. There is also an 850W microwave, a kettle and toaster.A door from the lounge leads up the stairs to the first floor.......
There are 2 double bedrooms on this floor as well as the family bathroom. The double bedroom to the rear of the cottage looks out over a pretty courtyard and has a wood frame double bed with white linen and matching fabrics. There are two sturdy bedside tables with lamps and a lovely old fireplace (non-working) with a mirror above and a distressed chest of drawers to the side with hanging space above for formal clothes.To the front of the cottage is a further double room with a window overlooking Chapel Street. Again, there is fresh white linen with co-ordinated fabrics, bedside tables and lamps, a small wardrobe and chest of drawers. This room also features a lovely and very useful Belfast sink.Between the two bedrooms is the family bathroom with a tiled floor, a heated towel rail and a white suite comprising a bath with shower over, a large washbasin and WC.A door from the landing leads up to the second floor bedroom.........
The third bedroom takes up the whole of the top floor and has a three-quarter bed which negates the argument of who is going to sleep in the single room! There is a useful desk and chair by the window and a fabric drawer unit under the eaves. Although the beams are well-padded to prevent knocks, there is limited headroom in some parts of this bedroom.
All in all, Glenhowen has a lovely fresh and easy feel about it without losing any of its cosiness. The bedrooms are delightful and it allows for flexible and more comfortable sleeping arrangements. It is the perfect choice for 2 couples who would prefer a double bed each but is equally suited for older children who would prefer separate bedrooms.
